Die Battle of the books des Wettbewerbs Canada Reads fanden vom 26. bis 29. März 2018 im CBC Glenn Gould Studio statt und standen unter dem Motto „open your eyes“. Angetreten sind folgende Vertreter und Bücher: Mozhdah Jamalzadah – The boat people von Sharon Bala (McClelland & Stewart), Tahmoh Penikett – American war von Omar El Akkad (McClelland & Stewart), Greg Johnson – Precious cargo von Craig Davidson (Knopf Canada), Jeanne Beker – Forgiveness von Mark Sakamoto (HarperCollins) und Jully Black – The marrow thieves von Cherie Dimaline (Dancing Cat Books).
Siegertitel der diesjährigen Ausgabe ist Forgiveness von Mark Sakamoto (HarperCollins).
